Eagles take down Axtell, Wilcox-Hildreth; fall at Alma

The Southern Valley volleyball team won two of its three matches last week, taking both ends of a triangular with Wilcox-Hildreth and Axtell on Thursday before falling on the road at Alma Friday. The match with Axtell brought out the intensity Thursday as the Eagles prevailed 25-20, 19-25, 25-23.

Life Chain to be held in Indianola on October 3rd

On Sunday, October 3rd, a Life Chain will be formed in Indianola along Highway 6 & 34 by the City Park from 2:00 until3:00. Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 6o minutes, praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. Participants are asked to meet at the City Park at 1:45. Water bottles, lawn chairs, umbrellas and strollers are welcome and encouraged. Signs will be provided. Coffee and cookies will be served afterwards.

In wild affair, Hi-Line stumbles late at Bertrand

BERTRAND - In a wild contest that featured a little of everything, the Hi-Line football team faltered late in a 55-38 loss at Bertrand Friday afternoon. The Bulls held a ninepoint lead late in the first quarter, then trailed by 17 midway through the second, but rallied to within three two minutes into the third.

Arapahoe JV drops game at Alma

The Arapahoe junior varsity football team traveled to Alma on Monday, September 27th, to take on the Cardinals. The Warriors started out by marching right down the field 65 yards capped off by a 7 yard run by Trenton Roskop.

Southern Valley falls at Alma, 48-8

ALMA - Offense proved tough to come by Friday night for the Southern Valley football team at Alma. The Eagles managed just 107 yards in a 48-8 defeat to the Cardinals, falling to 1-4 this season.

10 years ago Tri Valley Health Systems hosted their annual tailgate party Friday night prior to the Arapahoe-Alma football game at the Outdoor Classroom with assistance from George Probasco and members of the Arapahoe Tree Board. 20 years ago Mark Graf, Arapahoe Fire Chief, presented Arapahoe Public School Superintendent Cinde Wendell, with a defibrillator and will be placed in the Arapahoe Public School.
