LINCOLN – TeamMates Mentoring is excited to announce their annual fundraiser in collaboration with Runza Restaurants which aims to support TeamMates Chapters throughout the Midwest. On September 23rd, 2025, participating Runza locations across the Midwest will donate 10 percent of their sales to local TeamMates Chapters, contributing to the vital work they do in our community.

Indianola Fire and Rescue held their annual family picnic in the park Saturday Night! The weather was as awesome as the food! Had a great turn out and the kids loved the famous fire truck ride with lights and siren! Drawing winners were Kimberly Hoffmann, Ann Teel, Tara Fries, Kylea Stritt, Brooke Teel, Jasmyn Fries. It was a great night enjoyed by all, and the mosquitos and flies did not make an appearance fortunately!.

The Medicine Valley School Board voted to dissolve their wrestling co-op with Hayes Center during their September 8 meeting. Medicine Valley’s wrestling team has competed alongside Hayes Center for the past three years, but the later district opted to co-op with Wauneta-Palisade for the upcoming season.

One of America’s longest running traveling art exhibitions is in McCook for a sixweek stop at McCook Community College’s Wrightstone Gallery. The 158th International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society opened Monday and will be at MCC through Oct.

Michael J “Sluggo” Wilken passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK. Mike leaves behind a legacy of service to his country, community, church, family and friends. He lived life on his own terms and was stubborn to the end.

Evelyn Mae (Brandt) David, June 14, 1919-June 22, 2025 On June 22, 2025, Evelyn Mae Brandt David passed away in Coos Bay, Oregon. She was 106 years and one week.
