OGALLALA - Southwest’s Maddy Tryon fired a round of 103 to take ninth place at districts Monday and clinch a berth at next week’s Class C State Tournament. Cambridge’s Hailey Evans missed qualifying by two strokes with a 107 and Southwest’s Abby Sedlacek was three strokes out of qualifying with a 108.

AUBURN - After the tournament was delayed a day by rain, the Southern Valley/ Alma softall team hit the road for Auburn for a subdistrict tournament and matchup with the top seed Auburn. With single runs in the second and third, the Saints tied Bulldogs at two.

SOUTHERN VALLEY With a healthy dose of Chase Baitler running the football, the Hi-Line football team picked up its second win of the season with a 42-6 triumph at Southern Valley Friday. The Bulls enjoyed a 16-0 lead at the break, but blew the game open with 20 third-quarter points as Beitler rushed for 202 yards and four touchdowns.
