Pam Gaston, 4-H Council member, presented Outstanding 4-H Member awards to Bret Neel and Hailey Esch for their willingness to help younger 4-H members and their services to the 4-H program. Tyler Esch was recognized for her Outstanding 4-H Alumni member for her assistance with the Little Rascals. Jo Teter received part of the 4-H awarded to her contributions an as eleven year 4-H member and a club leader for twenty-nine years.
The bloodmobile held in the Southwest High School wrestling room last Tuesday was well attended with a goal of 42 and 41 units collected and three people deferred.

Names of Renee Minary and Jeanie Hock have been added to the list of scholars receiving the Col. Delbert L. Townsend Scholarships. Both are attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Lucas Haag, 18 of Bartley, is one of ten students from across the country who will receive a National Agri-Entrepreneur Award and $1,000 during a ceremony at the 74 th National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY October 26. He is the son of Gayle and Elaine Haag owner of Silver Creek Technologies.

The Mrs. XJC’s will have their annual Haunted House in the old hardware building on Main Street in Indianola on Sunday, October 27 and is free to the public.
Three Republican Valley students to be a part of the Junior High All-State Honor Choir in Hastings later this month. They are Joel Rodencal, Marshall Nelms, and Jason Long.

A basketball appears to shrink in size as it is measured up, as a gigantic pumpkin weighed over 100 pounds measured 71” around and stood 23 inches tall was raised by Mrs. Hoyt.
