BETTY L. DAVIS

Betty L. Davis age 84 of McCook passed away in North Platte on April 26, 2022. She was born in Greeley, CO on September 14, 1937, to Harold and Lula M. (Cumley) Sothman. The family move to McCook in 1970. On September 27, 1952, she wed Gene Ellenwood. To this union five children were born: Jim, Bill, Steve, Dianna, and Penny. On April 12, 1976, she wed Dale F. Davis and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2002.

Betty enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. She enjoyed weekend dinners, planning Easter egg hunts, and making Pinata’s for grandchildren’s birthdays. Betty spent time reader and studying her bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Lula; 2 sons: Terry and David Ellenwood; sister: Mary (Shorty) Piper; brother-in-law: Frank Prosser. Betty is survived by her;2 daughters: Dianna (Randy) Brown of North Platte; Penny (Richard) Thomas of Indianola, NE; 3 sons: Jim (Barb Ellenwood; Bill (Diane) Ellenwood of Michigan; Steve (Jeanine) Ellenwood of Harlan, IA; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister: Norma Prosser of WY.

Funeral Services will be held at the Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook on May 2, 2022, 2:00 PM with Rev. Bill Ellenwood, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the memorial Park Cemetery of McCook, NE. Visitation will be held at the Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM.
