John Lee Wayman, age 62, of Bartley, NE passed away unexpectedly in Cheyenne, WY on March 3, 2023.

John was born February 18, 1961 in Abilene, KS to parents Kenneth L. and Betty Rea (LeMay) Wayman. He was one of four children. John proudly served his country in the United States Army. He also earned his GED during this time.

On August 25, 1979, John married the love of his life, Julie A. (Blair) Wayman in Kirwin, KS.

The couple relocated to the Bartley area where they built their family and raised 6 kids. John was employed in the oil industry.

John loved fishing, shooting guns and spending time with family and friends who he enjoyed sharing tea with at the Cambridge truck stop. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and dressing up as Santa Claus at Christmas was something they looked forward to each year.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Colton Wayman.

Those left to celebrate his memory include his wife, Julie Wayman of Bartley; sons, Jonathan (Mikala) Wayman of Bartley and Kyle (Christina) Wayman of McCook, NE; daughters, Hollie (Brandon) Anderson of Omaha, NE, Lindsay (Fernando) Martinez of McCook, Julie (Max) Francis of Holbrook, NE and Peyton Wayman of Lincoln, NE; brother, Kenneth (Susan) Wayman of Industry, KS; sisters, Betty Bolin of Enterprise, KS and Barb Lowe of Industry; twenty three grandchildren, Shea, Alexis, Piper, Jadyn, Jared, Ethan, Matthew, Ryder, Michael, Tyler, Makayla, Seth, Addyson, Trever, Henley, Harper, Landon, John, Havanna, Alexander, Walker, Elena and Dominic; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held from 5 to7 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook.

A funeral service was held at 2 pm on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Mc-Cook Christian Church with Associate Minister, Clark Bates, officiating.

Burial with Military Honors followed in the Bartley Cemetery.
