She received her primary education at Union #4 District School and later attended Wilsonville Public Schools.
LaVerna’s greatest joy was raising her four children: LaVerta, Bob, Tim, and Chuck. They lived in Wauneta, NE for many years, where LaVerna worked at the school as a cook. They then made their home in Oxford, where she worked for the ESU #11, at Mid-Nebraska, as a teacher.
She enjoyed her life on the farm and tending to her yard and flower gardens. She loved attending stockcar races and watching the PBR.
But most of all, La-Verna treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Oxford.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Litz; her sister, Arlene Rice and her husband, Warren; brother-in-law, Arvid Bell; and her sonin-law, Terry Kitt.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her children: La-Verta Kitt of North Bend, Nebraska; Tim Litz and his wife, Cindy of North Platte, NE; and Charles Taylor and his wife, Gerry of Oxford; daughter- in-law, Debie Litz of Hendley, Nebraska;15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her sister, Nyla Bell of Hendley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will not be a visitation, viewing or memorial book signing the evening prior to the service. Cremation was chosen.
