Pamela Jane Esslinger, age 73, of McCook, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska. She was born on August 2, 1949, at Denver, Colorado to Alfred and Ellen Jane (Meyers) DeSaire, the oldest of 6 children.

Pam attended school and graduated from Central High School in Aurora, Colorado. She met Harvey Esslinger as he was attending Park School of Business in Denver. They were married on January 20, 1967, in Denver, Colorado. They moved to McCook, Nebraska in 1973 when they started Esslinger’s Home Improvement Company and ran for over 40 years. Pam was very entrepreneurial in that she would sell her beloved Indian jewelry at her store, the Indian Mart on the corner of Norris and A Streets. She would later go on to sell real estate with Alvina Becker at Century 21 in McCook. She loved to connect with the people she met in the area. She would put their needs before her own in any business endeavors she chose.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harvey, brothers Greg and Rodney DeSaire.

She is survived by her son Jeff and wife Jamie Esslinger of McCook, Nebraska, and granddaughter Katelinn Esslinger, brothers Terry (Georgie) DeSaire of Elizabeth, Colorado and Steven De-Saire of Wichita, Kansas, sister Cindy Brown of Aurora, Colorado, along with her dogs Buddy & Cody.

There was no visitation. Graveside services was Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 3:30 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska with Pastor Joshua Clark, officiating. The cemetery address is 73080 Road 426, Arapahoe and is 9 miles north and 2 miles east of Arapahoe. Garey Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
