Stephen D. Danielson

Stephen Dale Danielson of Lincoln was born on February 18, 1952, to Dale and Lorraine Danielson in Holdrege, Neb. and died on May 17, 2023. He attended elementary school at R6 school near Holdrege and graduated from Arapahoe High School in Arapahoe, Neb in 1970. He graduated from: University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) with a bachelor’s degree in Entomology; Oregon State University with a master’s degree in Entomology; and UNL with a Ph.D. in Entomology. He worked as a professor in the Department of Entomology at UNL until 2017. Preceded in death by his parents (Dale and Lorraine Danielson). Survivors include his wife Kathleen Everts Danielson of Lincoln; sons Jake Danielson and Kyle Danielson of Lincoln; brothers Randy Danielson of Nebraska City; John Danielson (LouAnne) of Weeping Water; sisters Sandra Steinbach of Fremont; and Shelley (Ron) Ellis of North Platte. He is survived by nieces Angela Danielson Sikarwar, Stephanie Carlin, Maggie Ellis Basgall, and Lacy Ellis Kinderknecht, as well as nephews Tim Danielson, David Danielson, Jeremy Hilker, Justin Hilker, Jeff Hilker, and Aaron Hilker.

Pallbearers: Randy Danielson (brother), John Danielson (brother), Jake Danielson (son), Kyle Danielson (son), Ron Ellis (brotherin- law), and Jon Halleen (brother-in-law).

Celebration of Life service was held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, May 22.
