Oxford Board approves lifeguard hires

Body The Village of Oxford board approved the hiring of lifeguards for the season. Trustee Chad Cunningham said he had spoken with manager Lacey Rice. They had seven total applicants. They hired Keira Wasenius as an assistant manager.

Lauren Quinn Wins District Championship

Body Making the long drive to Norfolk, NE to compete in the AmericKids District Gymnastics Championship at Northeast Community College, Quinn competing for Horizon Gymnastics of Holdrege, NE, was back to vie for her third All Around Championship.

SV Board approves new weight room

Body The Southern Valley School board approved a revamp of the weight room 5 – 0 during their meeting on Monday, May 9. The board previously heard from coach Dexter Becker with a proposal to redo the weight room. The original bid for his “dream” weight room was over $80,000.

Arapahoe School Board Approves Purchasing new Chrome Books

Body ARAPAHOE – The Arapahoe-Holbrook school board held their monthly meeting on May 9 and approved the purchase of new chrome books for 5-12th grades with ESSER funds for the 2022-2023 school year. The plan is to purchase chrome books for K-4th grade for the 2023-2024 school year.
