BEAVER CITY — Mayor Leighton Schmidt presided over the regular city council meeting on March 1. Norma Lea Gardner, age 93, completed her earthly journey and began her heavenly one in the early morning hours of February 24, 2021. Norma was born on October 2, 1927 in Atlanta, Nebraska to parents Frank Leroy and Mary Emma Leigh David, she was the youngest of four children.
The family of Kevin Blackman is saddened to announce his passing at age of 47. He was born at a whopping 10lb 6oz in Omaha, Nebraska to Carol (Stritt) Blackman and Gene Blackman. He had a 4-year-old brother, Greg to welcome him home.

Do you know anyone who had influenza this past year? Chances are you do not. Sure, plenty of people had the “stomach flu” with vomiting and diarrhea, otherwise known as gastroenteritis. Some people had colds and others had COVID-19. But cases of influenza this season have been exceptionally low.
