On June 10, 2021, Cambridge Unit 199 of the American Legion Auxiliary met in regular session in the Community Building at 2:08 p.m. After Presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Prayer and Preamble the meeting was called to order by President Marlene Witte. The minutes of the May meeting were read. Jo made a motion to approve them and Charla seconded it.
Patricia (Pat) Young was honored June 10, 2021 for 65 consecutive years of membership to the Cambridge American Legion Auxiliary Unit #199. The award was presented by Jo Lewis, Membership Chair-person.

Cambridge School Board approve Girls Wrestling Team

The Cambridge Public Schools Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, June 14, 2021. Jason Houghtelling and Sally Farquhar were excused from the meeting. Both the agenda and the minutes of the previous meeting were approved. In the Treasurer’s Report, Superintendent Greg Shepard stated all funds were remaining consistent with previous years and that many projects around the school had been accomplished. In discussion for General Fund Claims, Board Member Kim Huxoll raised a question about health textbooks purchased by the district. School Counselor/Instructional Facilitator, Genny Kubik, informed the Board that all 9th grade students would be taking a combined health/PE/weights course to prepare them for subsequent physical education courses offered. The textbooks purchased cover general health and wellness topics.

Four contestants from across the state will compete for the coveted title of Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2022. The Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association is hosting their annual pageant June 13-16 in North Platte during NebraskaLand Days. The contestants will compete is the categories of horsemanship, appearance, and personality.
