Cases of the Delta variant are increasing throughout the state and in southwest Nebraska. In Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) these Delta variant cases have been related to travel as well as large gatherings.

Cambridge City Council approved nuisance abatement agreement

The Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Council Member Mike Harris was absent. After calling the meeting to order, the Council approved the consent agenda items. They then moved on to the Cemetery and Library Reports. Mayor Gunderson reported the grant Maria Downer had been working on to aid in the asbestos that had fallen through because the City owns the library building. Council discussed and suggested to modify the renovation plan to avoid the asbestos at this time, but it will be discussed again at budget time.

Jon N. Glanzer, age 83, of Holbrook, Nebraska passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center, Arapahoe, Nebraska. He was born on February 12, 1938, at his grandparent’s family farm south of Arapahoe, Nebraska to Walter and Edna (Riepe) Glanzer. He attended school in Holbrook, Nebraska and graduated from Holbrook High School with the class of 1955. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany in 1956. He married Dolores Remington on September 21, 1957, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska and they have been married for 63 years.
