Body Kate and Ric Meyers went to see Ric’s sister, Janet Hosick in the hospital Sunday afternoon. Last week, Friday and Saturday Ric and Kate went to the lake.

Body The family of Lelia Haussler (above) celebrated her 100th birthday the weekend of August 13-15 at the Hunt Nebraska Lodge. She was also honored at the McCoy Family picnic at the Ella Missing Community Center.

Body Five new teachers begin their teaching duties at the Arapahoe/Holbrook Public School. They are Dylan Christian, Reid Stagemeyer, Riley Dirgo, Kaitlin Ellis and Terri Johansen.

Body New teaching staff at the Elwood Public School this year will be Maggie Louthan and Brooke Gengenbaugh. Maggie Louthan grew up in Smithfield, Nebraska and graduated from Bertrand high school in 2014.

Body Bernie and Mary Lou Jones were married at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cambridge NE, August 21st 1961.

Body If you choose to drink and drive in Furnas County-beware. The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office is joining with law enforcement throughout the nation for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign August 20, 2021 to September 6, 2021.
