Body SOUTHERN VALLEY - While they never grabbed a comfortable lead, the Southern Valley girls basketball team led almost throughout their home contest with visiting Overton Saturday. But with three seconds left, Overton had the ball down one.

Body MCCOOK-Friday the Cattle Trail Tournament continued and on the girl's side of things, in the consolation bracket Southwest was set to take on Dundy County-Stratton. The Roughriders were able to take care of business in that one winning big 67-37.

Body SOUTHERN VALLEY - A tough shooting night and an explosive second half from visting Overton proved to be too much for the Southern Valley boys basketball team Saturday. The Eagles dropped the contest to Overton, 65-33 after trailing 25-16 at the break.

Body BERTRAND- Tuesday evening the Hi-Line Bulls traveled down highway 23 to Bertrand to take on the Vikings. The Bulls played a solid game, winning 45-33. To start out, it was touch and go for both teams as Bertrand had 10 turnovers and Hi-Line had eight.
