A Memorial Service for Mary A. Runck will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oxford First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska, with Pastor Brian Jenkins officiating. A private family inurnment will be held prior to the service at the Alma Cemetery, Alma, Nebraska.

David Edward Leiding, age 85, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in Aniston, Alabama. He was born October 2, 1936 in Furnas County, Nebraska to David F and Evelyn Leiding.

Robert Norman McKinney, age 94, passed away December 14, 2021 in his home in Sun City, California. He was born November 16, 1927 to parents Marjorie and Ray McKinney in Orafino, Nebraska. Bob graduated from Cambridge High School in Cambridge, Nebraska and then enlisted in the Navy during World War II. Following his honorable discharge he completed his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Bob married Anjula Dick, also from Cambridge, while at UNL. Three children were born into this union, Jennifer, Daniel, and Kelly.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Charlotte F. Schutte will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Samuel Schutte, Charlotte’s brother-in-law, officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska with officiating at the graveside being led by Nelson G. Schutte, Charlotte’s grandson.

Last week the legislature heard LB 809 on the floor. This is a Natural Resources Committee priority bill. LB 809 was introduced by Senator Mike Moser of Columbus. It amends the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Act and the Wastewater Treatment Facilities Construction Assistance Act. The changes will reflect the existing federal regulations and also the new provisions in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
