Harlan County Health System CEO and Oxford Board discuss clinic closure

Body
The future of the clinic in Oxford was discussed during the regular meeting for the Village Board. Harlan County Health System Interim CEO Les Lacey attended the meeting and spoke at length to the board about the issues and challenges they are looking at. The clinic shut down completely this last week due to storm damage at Northwest Village Center. It had been operating two days per week and available to patients six hours per week. “I wish I wasn’t here and we didn’t have this situation. We want to make sure we provide care for the community and at the same time we have a responsibility for good stewardship,” Lacey said. He said the building needs a significant overhaul. He told the board there are some funds available, but all of those would not come here.
