Stamford’s annual Halloween Party is on Saturday, October 29 at 6 pm. Regulars should take note that this is a change in time. Stamford has their Halloween festivities the Saturday before Halloween and townwide trick or treating is the same day. Residents are encouraged to trick or treat around Stamford before the party begins.

Bryce was a standout all-around athlete at Cambridge High School, graduating in 2000, and went on to become an allconference wide receiver at Chadron State. He caught 99 passes for 1,538 yards and 16 touchdowns during his college career.

A motion was made by Darcy Johnson, seconded by Judy Jackson, to approve the financials. Motion passed.

The Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Halloween downtown trick-or-treat and trunk-or-treat on Monday, October 31 from 3 to 5 pm. Take note that the downtown intersection of Cambridge will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event..

Mountain Lion Lottery Application Period is November 7 – December 14

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will accept lottery applications for mountain lion permits Nov. 7 – Dec. 14, 2022, for the 2023 hunting season. Permits are available only to Nebraska residents, who may have one permit per calendar year. The bag limit for each permit is one mountain lion of either sex.

Handwashing is Key to Good Health

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) encourages everyone to review how well they wash their hands. Keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps to take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands well with soap and clean running water, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Arapahoe Fire Department visited the school during Fire Prevention week last week and gave the elementary students some valuable information on how to escape a house on fire and to get their escape plan worked out for their own homes. Hi-Line rolls away from Cambridge to claim district title

ELWOOD - The Hi-Line Bulls jumped all over visiting Cambridge in Friday night’s district and regular season finale. Then, after seeing most of a three-score lead disappear, the Bulls dropped the hammer again and rolled to a 70-24 victory. The win pushed Hi-Line to 7-1 this season and closed out a sweep of the district. Cambridge fell to 4-4.

Southwest finishes RPAC Volleyball Runner-Up

MCCOOK - The Southwest volleyball team had opportunities to take Tuesday’s RPAC Volleyball Championship Game, but two-time defending champion Maywood-Hayes Center proved too tough to close. Southwest held off a late rally from the Wolves in the opening set as Caylin Barnett terminated on the Roughriders final remaining set point chance for a 25-23 victory.
