Eugene “Hoppy” Mc-Cue, a longtime resident of Alma Nebraska, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023, at the age of 90. He was born on January 9, 1933 in Oxford NE to Alva and Audrey McCue.

Amy Louise Gentry age 65, of Cambridge, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on August 4, 2023. She was born in Lincoln, NE on September 24, 1957, to Donald Lee and Helen Joan (Shivel) Bachman.

Fayann Shedd, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 17, 2023 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was 89 years of age.

The children of David and Kathy Benson would like to celebrate their 50th Anniversary with a card shower! They welcomed 2 sons and 2 amazing daughter- in-laws. 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons came along to make sure they never had a dull moment. They have been enjoying their retirement helping in the community, keeping an eye on the grandchildren and some traveling along the way!!

Cambridge City Council opened with a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, to hear public comment on the Municipal Budget. There was no public comment and the public hearing was closed at 6:39 pm.

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees held their open hearing for the budget, CRA and tax request at 5:30 pm on Monday, September 11, 2023. They then approved those items during the regular meeting that immediately followed the hearings.

The Southern Valley School Board held their open hearings for the budget and tax asking on Monday, September 11 at 7:30 pm. They later approved the tax asking and budget during the regular meeting that immediately followed the open hearings.
