Norma’s family wishes to thank the staff and administrators of Elwood Care Center, Elwood, Nebraska, the staff and administrators of Tri-Valley Assisted Living, Cambridge, Nebraska, and Dr. Shiuvaun Jaeger – all of whom provided love and care for Norma in her final years of life.

It is with a full and grateful heart that I thank all the wonderful people involved in my successful back surgery. Thanks to Dr. Cornett and his staff, Tri Vally Health System, In-home care staff and my many friends and neighbors for their thoughts, prayers, cards, calls, and texts. A special thank you to Laurie for the ride to Omaha, mowing and ice cream!, Kathy, Annie, Marilyn, Barb T. and Val for bringing food, flowers and my mail, Carol for the grabber and shoe horn, Karen for the FROG cup, Cyndi for helping with my groceries, and Kim for the ride to Omaha.

Southeast Community College in Nebraska has released its Dean’s List for the summer term completed in July 2023 on the Beatrice, Lincoln and Milford campuses. To be recognized on SCC’s Dean’s List, a student must complete at least six semester credit hours of the term with a minimum grade-point average of 3.5.

This summer ten community swimming pools received Pool Cool certificates from Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD). The Pool Cool program works with local swimming pools to train pool staff to provide children with education about skin cancer and sun safety during their swim lessons.

On Tuesday, August 22 Farm Credit Services of America awarded Eustis-Farnam FFA Chapter with a $2,000 Grant. This grant is part of Farm Credit’s Working Here Fund program to support rural communities in ag education, hunger and nutrition and rural disaster relief / essential services.
