Warriors sweep hoops victories from Southwest

ARAPAHOE - After the Arapahoe girls pulled off a stunner of a victory over Southwest, the Warriors’ boys pulled away late for a victory as well to complete a sweep over the Roughriders last Friday. Berkley Warner knocked down a pair of free throws with five seconds left and Southwest missed a pair of shots at the rim as Arapahoe snared a 36-35 triumph in the girls contest.

Nine medal at Fran Jorgensen Invite

CAMBRIDGE - Nine area athletes earned medals and the Arapahoe wrestling team finished third at the Fran Jorgensen Invite in Cambridge Saturday. Warriors' freshman Briggs Hill continued his dominant start to the season as the 132-pounder took the title again, leading Arapahoe to a third-place finish as a team.

MAYWOOD - The Maywood- Hayes Center boys basketball team pulled out a win on the road last Tuesday at Sandhills Valley, then cruised to a home victory Thursday against Brady to improve to 6-1 this season.
