RPAC Rundown Athletes of the week honors go to: Karissa Stengel of Maywood-Hayes Center . In the RPAC West GBB Semi-final 52-45 win over Paxton on Thursday, Stengel tallied 15 points, 13 rebounds and eight steals.

Arapahoe bowlers headed to Lincoln on Sunday. The State Qualifying Bowlers were also recognized as the Girls Team became back-to-back District Champs (Class B) last week with Sophomore Lauren Moore finishing 2nd and Senior Aliyah Bowers 9th. Jr. Lael Rathbun finished 3rd on the Boys side. The Girls Team as well as Lael & Lauren (Individual Qualifiers) competed at the State Tournament on Monday and Tuesday in Lincoln! NSAA Bowling Championship HQ (Link): https://nsaahome.org/nsaa-bowling-championships-hq/Alyson Adams and Chad Heer of Southern Valley also qualified for state bowling. The Cambridge Rotary Club marked a moment of celebration at their January 31st meeting as they proudly presented the Vocational Service Award to Ken and Georgia Dutt, recognizing their outstanding volunteer efforts that have left a lasting impact on our community. Their extensive volunteer portfolio includes serving on the boards of the Senior Center, Cambridge Housing, and Golf Course, as well as active involvement with the Lions Club. The Dutts are not only original members of the Cambridge chapter of TeamMates but also continue to serve as dedicated mentors. They are also active on the Park Board, Meals on Wheels and TVHS Auxillary.

Maywood’s Speech team of three (right) were awarded the Champion plaque of the D1/D2 class at Perkins County on Saturday, January 27th. Pryce Johnston was the champion of Humorous Prose and also placed 8th overall in Serious Prose and Entertainment Speaking. Graci Peterka placed 3rd overall in Poetry. Emma Peterka was awarded top novice (first time speaker as a freshman) and 6th place overall in Humorous. What a fantastic way to kick off speech season!

The Maywood FFA seniors interviewed for their state FFA degrees today! Applications are passed on to the state to review and they will know by the end of February! Congrats to Gage Gerlach, Haydn Farr, Jeremiah Ingison, Nathan Renner, Gene Rutherford, and Layton Sailor for successful interviews!

Maintenance Work will begin on N-23, near Bertrand

Body
Weather permitting, a crack sealing project will begin Monday, Feb 5, on N-23, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Crack sealing is a process of cleaning and filling open joints and cracks in the surface with sealant to prevent the entry of moisture and debris.
