Cambridge Park Board is ready to start raising funds for new park equipment

Cambridge City Council met on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. Council members Mike Harris and Jeff Ommert were not present for the meeting. After the Pledge of Allegiance and open meeting announcement, the Council approved the Consent Agenda which included the Approval of minutes from the May 6, 2024, City Council meeting, the approval of Claims, the Planning Commission Minutes from May 8, 2024, as well as the Planning Commission Special Meeting from May 17, 2024. Cemetary Board minutes from the March 21, 2024 meeting were also approved.

Monthly Flea Markets may be coming to Bartley

The Village of Bartley held their regular meeting on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Kris Wolf of Cambridge, who moved to the area last June from Iowa, requested to be on the agenda to discuss holding monthly flea markets in Bartley Park.

American Legion Cornhusker Boys’ State Gearing Up

(Lincoln) May 14, 2024 Nearly 270 high school juniors from across Nebraska will be participating in American Legion Cornhusker Boys’ State, June 2 – 8 at the University of Nebraska Lincoln downtown campus. The annual citizenship program, sponsored by the Nebraska American Legion, is designed to provide youths with a better understanding of how city, county and state governments operate. Each boy is sponsored locally by an organization such as an American Legion Post, or by some other patriotic, civic, fraternal or religious group in cooperation with the local American Legion Post.

Kansas City, MO — The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Region 7, which includes Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, is urging drivers to buckle up ahead of a national Click It or Ticket high-visibility seat belt enforcement effort. The national seat belt campaign, which coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, runs from May 20 to June 2, 2024.

Ag Valley donates three glow boxes

Recently Ag Valley Co-op donated three Glow boxes to the Granada Theater in Oxford. The Glow Boxes hold movie posters that are lit up and almost given a 3D appearance. The Theater also updated the paint and lighting in that area of the theater to showcase them better. Pictured with the new Glow Boxes are Ag Valley Public Relations Director Haley Roberts and Ag Valley General Manager Jeff Krejdl. The wiring and lighting upgrades services were donated by Dry Creek Electric.

Hastings College honors 138th graduating class

HASTINGS, Nebraska (May 20, 2024) - Hastings College held its 138th Commencement on Saturday, May 18, 2024. During the ceremony, the College awarded degrees to 219 undergraduates and five Master of Arts in Teaching graduates. Graduates represented 19 states and seven countries.
