Maywood Public Schools has four new teachers this year: Rachel Callis, Avril Arthurs, Evaristo Lopez, and Eric Storm. Rachel Callis graduated from Maywood and then UNK, She has returned to her home town and school to teach 7-12 English.

Oxford Board moves forward on economic development

work on educating the public. Pettit said they need to work on educating about the vacant property registry. They will need to do a press release, information on Facebook or a mailer. She also said they should be getting the money soon for the demolition project. Public Works Director Duane Hoffman said they still need to get the loan for the clinic part of the demolition.

Stephen “Steve” Clair Martin, born on December 31, 1948, in Norton, Ks, passed away at UNMC-Omaha on August 8, 2024 at the age of 75. Due to a blizzard, his parents, Robert and Burdella Martin, were unable to return to the Hendley farm for several days after his birth.

Marvin Bruce Luke “Bub,” passed away at his home in Oxford, Nebraska, on August 6th, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on August 3rd, 1950, to Marvin A. and Helen Luke in Oxford, Nebraska. Marvin was baptized and received his first communion at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Oxford, Ne.
