McCOOK - Now in its ninth year, the Southwest Nebraska Big Give on Nov. 7 is bigger than ever with the most nonprofi t organizations participating in the 24 hours of giving.

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) encourages residents to get their flu shots and COVID-19 shot updates to protect against respiratory illnesses this winter.

McCook, Neb. – With a nationwide shortage of intravenous (IV) fluids following the temporary closure of Baxter’s manufacturing plan in Marion, North Carolina, Community Hospital is preparing by taking proactive measures to manage the current supply.

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees approved a resolution declaring the property at 701 Central a dangerous building during their regular meeting on Monday, October 14, 2024. The property has been looked at by the board of health as well as receiving complaints by other residents.

McCOOK - While it can be hard to categorize some of the non-profit organizations involved in the Southwest Nebraska Big Give, many of them have a specific focus on young and older community members. And all of them are seeking donations during the Big Give on Thursday, Nov. 7.

With less than a month until the 2024 Southwest Nebraska Big Give, organizers would like to introduce all the organizations which are part of the one day of giving.

Many area communities have plans for Halloween celebrations in the upcoming week. There are some ongoing events as well as some on or before Halloween.

Eager hunters will take to the fields Oct. 26 for Nebraska’s pheasant season opener.
