Nebraska 4-H Connect the Dots Program provided to ESU #11 10th grade students

Phelps & Gosper County 4-H partnered with Nebraska Extension’s College & Career Readiness team and ESU #11 to provide the Nebraska 4-H Connect the Dots program to over 250 10th grade students on October 15 – 16 at the Ag Center in Holdrege, NE. 11 schools participated including Alma, Arapahoe, Axtell, Bertrand, Elwood, Eustis-Farnam, Franklin, Loomis, Minden, Southern Valley, & Wilcox-Hildreth. Prior to attending, each student completed a career assessment to identify their top two career clusters. During this program youth engaged in workshops highlighting personalities in the workplace and motivated skills. Youth also had the opportunity to engage with collegiate representatives from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA), Central Community College (CCC), University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK), and the College of Agriculture Sciences & Natural Resources (UNL-CASNR) in addition to the US Army.

farmers and ranchers sign-up by november 15, 2024 for funding

Farmers and ranchers interested in preventing erosion, improving soil health, conserving water and wildlife, or making other natural resource conservation improvements to their property are encouraged to apply now for funding available from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Those interested in receiving funding this year should sign up before November 15, 2024.
