Medicine Valley wrestlers see season end at districts

SUTHERLAND - Two Medicine Valley wrestlers got within a win of reaching the State Tournament, but the team’s season ended at the D-4 District Tournament in Sutherland. Both Hunter Koetter (144) and Colton Koetter (215) won a pair of matches and reached the consolation semifinals Saturday, but finished a victory short of the State Tournament.

Cambridge City Council discusses Schaben Sanitation contract renewal

Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, February 17, 2025. Council member Kevin Banzhaf was absent from the meeting. After approving the consent agenda items, the council discussed the library report submitted by Maria Downer. A motion was made to approve the report and the library board minutes as submitted. The motion passed.

It was cold and blustery out Monday evening but the Arapahoe American Legion Soup Supper went on as planned. Though it may not have been as busy as previous years but several brave souls made their way to the soup and sandwich supper. And, we’re even deeper in the deep freeze than last week! At this writing, it’s -10 degrees, snowing and blowing. The weathermen tell us that these temps we’re having now are the coldest highs on record for this time of the year. But heads up! By Monday, the highs are predicted to be in the 60’s!

For Children’s Dental Health Month, Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) encourages parents to teach good dental habits and get regular dental care for their children. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that children visit their dentist no later than their first birthday and every six months after that. When children learn how to care for their teeth early in life, their families save on costs and prevent future problems.
