Chadron State College announces Presiden’ts and Dean’s List

CHADRON, Neb. (May 19, 2025) – Chadron State College has announced the names of students who qualified for the President’s List for the Spring 2025 semester. To be eligible, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours of coursework, be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 4.0, and have no incomplete grades. These area students were recognized on the President’s List, by hometown: Beaver City, Neb. - Alivia Taylor Indianola, Neb. -Cayleigh McConville McCook, Neb. - Shelbi Hazlitt, Megan Hodgson, Danielle Mowry, Samantha Rodewald, Rachel Rydgren Harper Stevens.

2025 Graduation commencements held Saturday

Graduates from Southwest High School, pictured above, were part of six area high schools that held commencement exercises Saturday, joining seniors from Cambridge, Elwood, Eustis-Farnam, Maywood, Medicine Valley and Southern Valley. A special salute to area graduates can be found in a special section inside. Scholarship information will be available in a future section.

Jane Marie Blume-McConville, age 90, of McCook, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, surrounded by her loving family. Jane was born on November 1, 1934, in McCook to Walter and Marie (Wagoner) Shirley.
