Body If organizers for the 2025 Southwest Nebraska Big Give had to sum up the day in one word, it would be “impressive.” The one-day of giving on Nov. 6 reached a new record in 2025, with $410,855.49 in donations for 45 organizations in McCook and Southwest Nebraska.

Body INDIANOLA - The Indianola City Council met Monday for a lengthy discussion on a number of topics, including a presentation from Miller & Associates on comprehensive plans and zoning regulations as well as what to do about unlicensed vehicles parked on City streets.

Body Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday at 6:30 p.m. Council member Jeff Ommert was absent from the meeting.

Body The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees met on Monday, November 16 at 5:30 pm. The board approved the appointment of Angie Mitchell as clerk/treasurer. Current clerk Shawnna Miller has resigned her position, but will be working to train Mitchell.

Body Southwest’s upcoming opponent in the Class D6 State Championship Game has left the same impression on a number of people that have watched them and played them, including Medicine Valley Coach Scott Trimble.

Body RED CLOUD - Coming into Friday’s D6 semifinals, the Red Cloud Warriors had scored 61 points per game (not counting a forfeit) in rolling to a 10-0 record. Virtually unstopped all season, the Warriors put their offense on the field first in Friday’s contest against Southwest.
