Impressive Southwest Nebraska

If organizers for the 2025 Southwest Nebraska Big Give had to sum up the day in one word, it would be “impressive.” The one-day of giving on Nov. 6 reached a new record in 2025, with $410,855.49 in donations for 45 organizations in McCook and Southwest Nebraska.

Indianola Council discusses unlicensed vehicles

INDIANOLA - The Indianola City Council met Monday for a lengthy discussion on a number of topics, including a presentation from Miller & Associates on comprehensive plans and zoning regulations as well as what to do about unlicensed vehicles parked on City streets.

Oxford Board appoints new clerk

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees met on Monday, November 16 at 5:30 pm. The board approved the appointment of Angie Mitchell as clerk/treasurer. Current clerk Shawnna Miller has resigned her position, but will be working to train Mitchell.
Eustis-Farnam performed “Everyman in the Circus of Life” by Travis Tyre and finished Runner- Up in the East portion of the RPAC Play Production competition last week in Holdrege. Acting awards went to Whitney Page, Kyson Dean, Maddie Tryon, Christian Maurer, Gage Rupp, and Haley Morain. Photos from other schools competing can be found on Page B3.

RED CLOUD - Coming into Friday’s D6 semifinals, the Red Cloud Warriors had scored 61 points per game (not counting a forfeit) in rolling to a 10-0 record. Virtually unstopped all season, the Warriors put their offense on the field first in Friday’s contest against Southwest.
