Area boys basketball teams are the final entrants into postseason play, which begins Monday at subdistricts. Arapahoe, Cambridge, Southern Valley and Southwest will contend at the Subdistrict D1-11 Tournament, hosted by Bertrand beginning Monday with the Warriors and Eagles squaring off.

Area teams qualify eleven for Boys State Wrestling

Eleven area boys wrestlers reached the Class D State Tournament by qualifying from two different district tournaments this past weekend, including four district champions. From the District D-4 Tournament in Bartley, Arapahoe’s Briggs Hill remained unbeaten on the season with a first place finish at 144 pounds.

The Hi-Line boys basketball team saw a fourth quarter lead melt away to hot-shooting South Loup Friday in a 63-54 defeat. The Bulls had built a 4237 lead through three quarters, but the Bobcats dropped 26 points in the final eight minutes to rally for the victory.

As the postseason quickly approaches, the Medicine Valley boys basketball team ran its record to 13-8 with a Friday matchup with Dundy County Stratton the only game remaining on its regular season schedule.
Hosting one of the league’s top teams, the Southern Valley boys basketball team dropped its contest with Dundy County Stratton, 76-48, Friday night. The Tigers built a 20-6 lead after a quarter and their offense never slowed down. Isaac Hamilton scored 23 to lead Southern Valley and Hunter Lans and Jacob Rice each scored eight for the Eagles.
