Cambridge City Council approve replacing generator batteries

Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meeting Law announcement, the council approved the consent agenda. The consent agenda included the minutes from the previous city council meeting, the museum board minutes, the park board minutes, and the library board minutes. It also included the claims and the planning commission minutes, as well as building permits for the following: Chester Miller, Cattails Creek LLC, Bradley Edgerton/ Frenchman Cambridge, Crystal Kruger, Calvary Baptist, John Kutnink, Joseph Benson, and Bethany Stritt.

Maywood’s CTE Program growing

During the monthly meeting earlier this month, Maywood Superintendent Mark Bejot updated board members about the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Districts are required to complete the revision process every two years for approval and funding from Nebraska CTE and Federal Perkin grants.

March 12, 2026 Cambridge Unit 199 of the American Legion Auxiliary met in regular session at the Community Building with six members present: President Marlene Witte, Vice President Sandy Cornett, Secretary Sondra Jonson, Treasurer Carol Cotton, Chaplain Charla Mehaffie and Member Virginia Roberts. After Pledge of Allegiance, Prayer and Preamble, Pres. Witte called the meeting to order at 2:22 p.m.

Dixie Sickels earns designation of Certified Municipal Clerk

Dixie Sickels, CMC of City of Arapahoe, has earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), which is awarded by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), Inc. IIMC grants the CMC designation only to municipal clerks who complete demanding education requirements; and have a record of signifi cant contributions to their local government, community and state.
