A team of high school artists from Norton claimed the team title Friday at McCook Community College’s 51st annual Paint-In Competition. Also the results of the Paint-In exhibition were announced and McCook High School’s Hanna Huff received this year’s “Best of Show” award.

Bartley Historical presentation

The Village of Bartley will be celebrating 140 years early this summer. A historical talk will be given at the Bartley Library on May 3, 2026 at 2:00PM. Historian Kevin Mc-Gregor will present a program of history about Bartley and Red Willow County. Kevin is the grandson of Bill and Ruth Teter. Bill had a drug store and pharmacy in Bartley starting in the 1920’s . After Bill’s untimely passing in 1970, Ruth kept the store going until 1986. Kevin will be joined by his cousin Steve Teter, grandson of Bill and Ruth.

The Elwood Public Schools Board of Education met on Monday, April 13th, 2026. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Ryan Shutts was absent and all other board members were present. There was no public comment. The agenda and minutes from the March 9th and March 17th, 2026 meetings were approved. The board approved the general financial report and activity financial report. Monthly bills discussed included fuel expenses at the Red Barn, a catered breakfast for the National Honor Society ceremony, school supplies for the upcoming school year, and food supplies through the nutrition fund.

CURTIS – The Medicine Valley School Board met on April 13 for their regular monthly meeting. The board approved the agenda and consent agenda, the March board meeting minutes, and this month’s agenda, board bills, and treasurer’s report, followed by committee updates and facility project updates.
