Work to bein on US-183, near Holdrege

Body July 20, 2026 (McCook, Neb.) — Weather permitting, a chip seal project will begin July 27 on U.S. Highway 183 (US-183), according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Chip seal is an application of an asphalt binder to a roadway surface followed by an aggregate.

Elwood Student Earns Distinguished Young Women Scholarship

Body Elwood High School Senior Kara Brockman qualifi ed and participated in the Distinguished Young Women of Nebraska scholarship program on Sunday, July 12 at Bennington High School. Brockman received a $500 cash scholarship as one of two Creative Arts Essay winners.

Gladiators, Hi-Line head to postseason
