Three Southwest graduates received their degrees in ceremonies at UNK December 16. Kyle Teel received his Bachelor of Science in Business Education Comprehensive. Son of Rick and Ann Teel of Indianola. Megan Dolan received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work Comprehensive. Daughter of Paul and Debbie Dolan of Indianola. Krista McConville received her Bachelor of Science in Family Studies. She is the daughter of Steve and Kerry McConville of Bartley.

The following Southwest students Cassa McConville in Cross Country, Tanner Teel in football and Katie Kelley and Allie McConville in volleyball were named all Academic All-State winners.

Hope Houghtelling has received a letter congratulating her on being selected to participate in the 2002 National Student Leadership Conference in Washington DC next summer. She is the daughter of Doug and LuAnne Gnuse of Fremont and the granddaughter of LaMoine and Garnet Houghtelling of McCook.

Valerie DeJonge received her 2002 Occupational Therapy pins from the College of St. Mary at Omaha, Nebraska Saturday, December 8. She is the daughter of Ed and Rita McConville of Indianola.

Judeen Cornelsen, is joining her mother, Judy Keith, in the Gals and Guys Beauty Salon. Judeen has been in her present location for the past two years, before that she operated Judy’s Hair Shop for four years.

Any decision on the Republican Valley School building was delayed by a vote of the school board December 9 th . Board chose to delay the decision until the Nebraska Legislature solves the tax crisis facing the state.

Mike Simpson, Republican Valley head wrestling coach for the past few years is intent on the action provided between his Mustangs and the McCook Bison wrestlers Thursday night at the Republican Valley gymnasium. The Mustangs took a decisive victory over the bigger McCook School to provide Coach Simpson with his 50 th dual win.
