Maywood School Board Approves Purchase of Athletic Equipment

The Maywood School Board held their regular meeting on Monday, March 18. The board voted to purchase a new score board, backboard, and shot clocks for the gym. It is expected that the Nebraska School Activities Association will vote next month to require all school districts to install shot clocks prior to the 2024-2025 basketball season.

Promenade begins at 6:00 pm in the South High School Gymnasium on March 23rd. Doors will not open to the public until 5:30. The public is invited to view the decorations in the North Gymnasium immediately following promenade.

Scout Pack 236 held their Blue and Gold Banquet at the Ella Missing Center in Arapahoe on Saturday night. There were awards, a cake auction and Josh Sikes, District Executive for Overland Trails Council gave a short speech.

Cambridge City Council holds public hearings for Harvest Meadows Tenth

The Cambridge City Council met on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. A Public Hearing for rezoning from A-1 Agricultural Zoning District to R-1 Single Family Residential Zoning District for proposed Harvest Meadows Tenth, an addition to the City of Cambridge between Road 410 and Wheat Ridge Drive and North of Prairie View Drive.

The Southern Valley Board of Education met on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 7:30 pm for their regular meeting. The board heard the administrative reports from both principals, activities director and superintendent.

Legion Auxiliary Unit 199 to hold officer elections in May

Unit 199 of the American Legion Auxiliary met in the Community Building on March 14, with 9 members present. After Presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Prayer and Preamble, Pres. Witte called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m. The minutes of the February meeting were read. Marylou made a motion to approve them; Sue seconded. The motion passed.
