This summer ten community swimming pools received Pool Cool certificates from Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD). The Pool Cool program works with local swimming pools to train pool staff to provide children with education about skin cancer and sun safety during their swim lessons.

Southeast Community College in Nebraska has released its Dean’s List for the summer term completed in July 2023 on the Beatrice, Lincoln and Milford campuses. To be recognized on SCC’s Dean’s List, a student must complete at least six semester credit hours of the term with a minimum grade-point average of 3.5.

(Hastings, Neb.) – The dental hygiene clinic at Central Community College-Hastings has opened for the 2023 fall semester. Both adults and children can get preventive care such as cleaning, x-rays, fluorides and sealants at the clinic from 8 a.m.

We got rain! Yea! Reports of amounts are all over the board. The Hill received .65 Saturday night while ½ mile west at Steve & Shari’s there was .83. A Danbury gauge showed 2.25”. My gauge had another .15 in a surprise shower Monday morning. Now, we’ll just hope for more real soon. But the weatherman is promising another round of those high temps.
