Local resident Lee Long sings the Star Spangled Banner during Memorial Day Services at the Oxford Cemetery Monday, May 30. Speaker for the service was Southern Valley Senior Keira Wasenius and a flyover was perfectly timed at the end by Royce Bose. Sons of the American Legion Commander Mike Quinn encouraged those who qualify to join the American Legion. He said their numbers are dwindling and without the Legion there will not be a Sons squad. “We are here to support our Legion and without them we cannot do that.”

The Beaver City Chamber of Commerce dedicated a bench at the northeast corner of Gazebo Park on May 27 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the town’s founding. It was built by Stalder Repair of Beaver City and the logo was designed by Ashley and Kelly Blickenstaff of Stamford. Call if you need more details. With over 60 in attendance, the Cambridge Alumni Banquet was held Sunday evening with food, entertainment and fellowship. Joann Taylor of Hillsboro, Oregon, traveled the farthest and won The Valley Voice 1 year subscription. The oldest attending graduate was Lloyd Frandsen. He won a Town Talk Gift certificate. Charla Mehaffie won the Cambridge High School adult activity pass. Finally, the 2022 Alumni Association Scholarship was awarded to senior Paige Klumpe. The event was hosted by the class of 1993.

Nurses at Tri Valley Health System are being honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses ®. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day.
