House a total loss from fire

A house in Oxford is estimated a total loss by the fire marshal after a fire broke out last Monday, November 22. No injuries were reported. The Oxford fire department was dispatched to a structure fire on Central Street around 2:53 pm. The Oxford department responded with two pumpers, one ambulance and an equipment truck. Mutual aid was requested from Beaver City, Stamford, Orleans and HEA (Holbrook, Edison, Arapahoe). There were 34 firefighters on scene, 15 of them from the Oxford department.
The Oxford Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Central Street. The cause of the fire was a freezer connected via extension cord that overheated.

Giving Trees up in Oxford

The Giving Trees at South Central State Bank and Village Mercantile are now filled with tags. The tags contain gift descriptions for area children in need this year. The Giving Tree is sponsored by the Oxford Ministerial Association every year.
