Elwood Bulletin 10 years ago The Elwood school play performance shows Fairies (Ashley Larsen and LexieRemminga scratch the donkey’s head (Grant Rajhes) as Titania (Tamara Amesbury) adoringly lets the donkey sleep on her lap. The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the National “You Drink, You Drive, You Lose” selective enforcement.

100 Years Ago November 24, 1921 The eighth grade basketball team held the high school team to a tie. The eighth grade line-up was Willie Beighle, center; Percy Clarine, forward; Flore McNamara, forward; Bacil Cowan, guard and Harle Grush, guard.

25 Years Ago November 21, 1996 Rich Phillips, economic development director for Beaver City, and Ernie Hulinsky, Oxford branch manager for Union Bank and Trust, are pictured with dairymen from Holland who may locate their business in Canada and in the Furnas County area. They have twice previously toured this area and local officials are hoping their interest will mean location in Furnas County.

Scouts hold Rain Gutter Regatta

The Arapahoe Scouts held their annual Rain Gutter Regatta on Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church, Each Scout made a sail boat and used a straw to race it down the gutter filled with water. After the races, the scouts received their popcorn orders so if you ordered something from a scout, you should be getting your order soon. Other scouting activites last weekend was the Night at the Museum where some of the scouts spent the night at the Hastings Museum.

Nebraska Farm Bureau Urges House Members to Oppose Build Back Better Plan

LINCOLN, NEB. – Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) is urging Nebraska’s congressional delegation to opposed President Biden’s Build Back Better Act (BBB), also known as the reconciliation package. In a letter to Nebraska’s House of Representatives members, NEFB President Mark McHargue says the bill’s significant price tag along with the increased taxes used to pay for it outweigh any benefit that may exist in the legislation.

Arapahoe Boys Basketball Team Collect Food for Arapahoe Food Pantry

Team members of the Arapahoe boys basketball team brought food that they had collected to the Food Pantry on Thursday afternoon. Students held a competition bringing the most food items to the school. The first grade class won and they got to put a pie in the face of a basketball player of their choice.
