Nebraska Artifact Show 2021

The Nebraska Archaeological Society’s 17th annual Artifact Show will be held Saturday, August 21st from 9 AM to 5PM at the Seward County Fairgrounds, Harvest Hall in Seward, Nebraska. Highlights include world-class displays of archaeological artifacts, flint knapping demonstrations and professional identification of artifacts and bone. Admission for adults, kids under 12 are free. The Pinnacle Bank in Elwood held a teacher/staff breakfast Tuesday morning for the teachers at Elwood School. We are open to in-house meals and as long as our Gosper County numbers stay down we can remain open. We are following the guidelines that WCNAAA has suggested for our Center. Masks are optional. Elwood’s Farmer’s Market this Sunday

The summer’s last Farmer’s Market will be held on Sunday, August 15 from 5:00-6:30 and will be located behind the Courthouse. Item include: Fresh Produce, Jellies (Junk & Jellies out of Beaver City), Jerky, Handmade rugs (YoAdrianneCo out of Lexington), Ice-Cream, Baked goods and More! There will also be music and a few games set up as well. Come enjoy! The market is sponsored by the Elwood Chamber of Commerce.

Cambridge City Council approves Department of Utilities Policy for Net Metering

The Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, August 2, 2021. A public hearing was held at 6:30 for John and Valerie MacLeod at 1313 Galligar Street for solar to be installed on existing shop. No one was present to comment. A motion was made and seconded to approve installing solar on existing shop at 1313 Galligar Street. The motion passed. A second motion was made to approve the Conditional Use Permit of John and Valerie MacLeod at 1313 Galligar Street contingent on the applicants completing the required net metering Interconnection Application and Interconnection Service Agreement. Then motion passed.

$1.25 million renovation project underway

CAMBRIDGE - With the Cambridge Municipal Pool closed on August 1, demolition on the City's $1.25 million renovation project is underway. The project calls for a rehab of the pool's bathhouse, reconstruction of the wading pool and the installation of a gutter system around the pool's perimeter as well as other improvements to the circulation system. Work is scheduled to be completed late next spring with an anticipated opening of the pool in late June 2022.
