Lt. Govenor Mike Foley and Ashley Rice-Gerlach from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) were in Arapahoe on Monday, February 8 to tour the progress of the library expansion. Last April the library received a grant from DED in the amount of $372,172 to help with the renovation costs. While construction was delayed some due to issues getting materials, completion of the project is still expected later this spring.

With greater populations gaining access to COVID-19 vaccinations each week, the process of distributing vaccine to those that want it is steadily progressing in Southwest and South Central Nebraska. But not every community and health department have been able to move at the same pace, according to local health officials.

An arctic air mass will remain over the Central U.S. this week with frigid temperatures and dangerous wind chills.
