David Davidson
David “Dave” Davidson, age 75 of McCook, passed away suddenly at his home on August 29, 2022. Dave was born in McCook on January 20, 1947, to Kenneth L. and Betty (Quigley) Davidson. Dave graduated from Indianola High School in 1965, and then attended McCook Community College. On February 12, 1972, Dave married Suzanne “Susie” Luther and lived on a farm north of Indianola.
To this union two children were born: Angela and Billy. Dave and Susie raised their children on the farm, later moving to Curtis, NE where Dave owned his own auction and real estate company until the late 90’s.
Dave eventually moved to McCook and married Connie Kuhlman on February 18, 2000. Upon that marriage Connie added three children of her own to their family: Lorin, Chara and Julie. Dave spent the second half of his life working in sales and farming, but Dave found his calling was being a minister for many Southwest Nebraska churches during the last 15 years, most recently the Church of God in Trenton. Dave was also proudly serving as a hospice chaplain until the time of his death.
Dave’s true passion in life were his grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and of course his own children. Dave loved being around family.
Dave also enjoyed fishing and antique tractors. He couldn’t resist stopping to look at an old tractor.
Dave could also be seen around town at coffee visiting with friends. He was a regular on the coffee circuit.
Dave will be reunited with his loved ones in Heaven: his parents Betty and Lee Davidson, sister Debi (Davidson) Cullen; grandson Bernard Davidson, and brother-in-law Tom Stritt.
Dave will leave behind his wife Connie of McCook, daughter Angela (James) Parsons of Otoe, NE, son Billy (Amanda) Davidson of McCook, NE, step-son Lorin (Valerie) Howard of Bennington, NE, stepdaughters Chara Heese of Lincoln, NE and Julie (Justin) of Adams, NE and foster son Nick (Kaitlyn) Dunn of Indianola, NE; five grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; sisters Nanci Stritt of Indianola, NE, Lisa (Don) Felker of Mc-Cook, NE, and brother Tom (Joellyn) Davidson of Indianola, NE; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Dave will be at The Willow Church in Indianola, Friday, September 2, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Terry McCorkle officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Indianola. Memorials may be left in Dave’s name to the Community Hospital Hospice. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
