DR. R.A. "BUZZ" PETERSON

Dr. R.A. “Buzz” Peterson, 81, of Norton, KS passed away January 4, 2023 at his home.

He was born January 22, 1941 in Harlan, IA to William “Harley” and Eldora A. (Struve) Peterson.

Buzz grew up in Harlan, IA and was a 1959 graduate of Harlan Community High School. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1966.

Buzz married Patty A.

Zinke on Feb. 8, 1964 in Audubon, IA. They made their home in Davenport, IA until 1966, when they moved to Atwood, KS.

On August 1, 1972, they moved to Norton where he opened his chiropractic business.

Buzz was a Norton County Commissioner, Norton Council member, Norton Hospital board member and various club members for years.

Buzz’s biggest accomplishment was being a chiropractor with over 50 years of service. His other activities included being an avid hunter, fisherman, poor golfer, and avid pitch player.

Buzz is survived by his sons, Bobby (Hazel) Peterson of Norton, KS and Douglas (Micaela) Peterson of Olathe, KS; grandchildren: Cole (Cassie Walker) Peterson, Meaghan Peterson, Nicholas Peterson, Jacob Peterson, all of Norton, KS, Josh Maddy, and Harper Tarantola; greatgranddaughters, Annabelle and Emma; brothers, Paul (Alice) Peterson of Sacramento, CA and Dean Peterson of Harlan, IA and his special friend Barb Felt of Arapahoe, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patty and brother, Everett Peterson.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the First Church of God in Norton. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetery. Visitation was held from 1:007:00 pm Wednesday, January 11 at the funeral home. Family greeted friends from 5:00-7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to R.A.
