Edward Lynn “Ed” McInturf, 78 years of age, of Oxford, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the Harlan County Health Systems in Alma. Ed was born in Holdrege, Nebraska, on October 3, 1943, the eldest of three children born to Elmer Linley and Dorthy Pearl (Biehl) McInturf. He attended District #10 Country School in Furnas County until the 8 th grade. He then attended Stamford High School, graduating with the class of 1961. Following his education, Ed served in the Nebraska National Guard until his honorable discharge in 1970. Ed worked for the Stamford Elevator and for area farmers until he began farming in 1967.

On April 27, 1968, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Suzanne Duensing in Holbrook, Nebraska and to this union, the couple was blessed with one son, Neal. The family made their home south of Oxford, where they owned and operated a dairy until 1995. In September of 1994, Ed became employed at Ag Valley COOP, as elevator manager at the Oxford branch, until his retirement in 2015.

Ed became a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Oxford, where he served as an usher for 40 years. He was a member of the Orleans Jaycees and served on the Deaver Cemetery Board for many years. He was very active in 4-H in his youth, and as a leader when Neal was older.

Ed was an avid collector of small scale tractors and many antiques. He loved putting jigsaw puzzles together and enjoyed word searches. Most of all, Ed was a family man who loved attending his grandchildren’s activities and in later years, spending time with his great-grandson.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Lois Duensing; and one brother-in-law, Gary Peterson.

He leaves behind his wife, Phyllis of Oxford; son, Neal McInturf and his wife, Margaret of Beaver City, Nebraska; two grandchildren: Philip McInturf and his wife, Allison of Oxford; and Laura McInturf and her significant other, Isaac Watson of Edison, Nebraska; great-grandson, Kasen McInturf; one brother, Richard McInturf and his wife, Lois of Kearney, Nebraska; sister, Susanne Peterson of Orleans, Nebraska; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation was held on Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford, with the family greeting from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
