EUGENE E. BROWN

Eugene E. Brown, age 64 of York, NE, died Sunday, July 14, 2024 in York. He was born on March 29, 1960 to Lloyd and Carlen (Schleicher) Brown in Cambridge, NE. On October 19, 1985 he was united in marriage to Tami Bourelle in Holdrege, NE.

Eugene was a landscaper at Merle’s Nursery. He enjoyed collecting antiques and was an animal lover. He loved raising his children.

He is survived by his wife Tami of York, daughter Kacie (Dennis) Castillo of York, son Dustin Brown of York, daughter Kalea Brown of Lincoln, NE, daughter Jamie Fox (Shawn Holmberg) of Bristow, NE, son Adam Thompson of Northwood, IA, son Matthew Thompson (Stacey Sobotka) of Creston, IA, 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by sisters Debbie (Steve) Monter of Cambridge, NE, Kandy Brown of Bartley, NE, Vicky (Pat) Hewitt of Phillipsburg, KS, and in-laws Richard (Paula) Bourelle of Holdrege, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy, and nephew Mitchell.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, NE with Pastor Jean Clayton officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Condolences may be left for the family at metzmortuary.com.
