DENVER, Colo. Janice Kaye (Schleicher) Hunt, 85, of Denver, Colo., died Sep. 7, 2021, at Harvard Square Assisted Living Facility after a long illness, with her daughters, Lenee’ Erickson and Ladonna Hunt-Hiatt, by her side.

She was born on May 9, 1936, to Richard and Goldie Schleicher at the Forney Place near Beaver City, Neb.

Janice attended college in Kearney, Neb. and later graduated from the Bradford School of Business.

She married Max Ernest Hunt on Aug. 6, 1955 and they had three children, Lenee’, Ladonna, and Lucinda.

She worked as a teacher’s aide in Grand Junction, Colo. for several years, retired as a word processor from the Lockheed Martin Corporation and then tutored for several years at Metro State College.

She loved her family, church and church family. She loved to travel, do cryptograms, read, sew and quilt.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Max Hunt, father Richard Schleicher, mother Goldie Schleicher, stepmother Evelyn Schleicher, and daughter Lucinda Hunt Janice is survived by daughters Lenee’ (David) Erickson, Ladonna (Truman) Hunt Hiatt, grandchildren Nathan Hunt, Brent (Alyssa) Erickson, Cassy White, Beth (Chris) Daino, greatgranddaughter Mackenzie Erickson, sisters Joy Stalder and Lynda Bass, sister-in-laws Shirley Hunt and Phyllis Johnson and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cremation was performed by The Neptune Society. Memorial services were held Oct. 25, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church, 4905 E Yale Ave, Denver, CO 80222 with the Rev. Kama Morton officiating.

Interment was Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Edison Cemetery.

Memorials or donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church memorial fund or the Denver Rescue Mission in her name.
