Halstead. He was born at Logan, KS, on August 4, 1942 to Bernard Anthony and Geraldine Lorraine (Wheelbarger) Becker.

Joseph was a Halstead resident since 1964 moving to the area to drag race. He served in the Army National Guard and was on active duty in Viet Nam during 1968-1969. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a volunteer fire fighter for the Halstead Fire Department. He owned and operated Becker Body Shop for many years in Halstead before selling the business, and working for Wichita dealerships. He continued restoring cars during his retirement and was a lifetime member of the Studebaker Drivers Club.

On September 4, 1971, he married Linda L. Biermann at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. She survives at their home in Halstead.

He is also survived by sons: Eddie Becker, Halstead; Kelly (Wendy) Becker, granddaughter: Cheyenne and grandson: Tanner, all of Leon; brothers: Don (Sherrie) Becker, Brookville, FL; and Max (Pat) Becker, Duncanville, TX.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Bill and Larry Becker and sister, Lola Summers.

Cremation has taken place. The Rosary was said 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2022, followed by the Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, with Father Andrew Heiman presidiing.

Inurnment followed at the Halstead Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Caring Hands Humane Society or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
