June A. Hanson of Hermiston, Oregon, former Nebraska resident was born on June 15, 1935 in Steele City, Nebraska to parents, Paul and Myrtle (Johnson) Miller. She passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024 in Richland, Washington at the age of 88 years.

She graduated from Fairbury High School in 1952 where she met her husband A. Wilber Hanson. They were married on September 21, 1952 and enjoyed 70 years together. Together they raised two children, Don and Lisa.

June lived a full and vibrant life. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies including bowling, crocheting, snow and water skiing. She also loved playing bridge, cribbage and a variety of other games. She was an avid fan of Husker football and volleyball and loved cheering on the Kansas City Royals. She also proudly sold cosmetics for 15 years and was able to earn a new car every other year.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, A. Wilber Hanson.

June is survived by her loving family: her son Don (Jeanne) Hanson, her daughter Lisa (Don) Ellicott, her grandsons Rusty (Tina) Hanson, Toby (Cori) Hanson, Kresimir (Stephanie) Jambresic “Yahm-bre-sich”, Jason (Avalisa) Ellicott, her granddaughters Courtney (Brian) Morter, Kim (Josh) Mueller, and her 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Karen Arend, Sharon (Delvin) Finlayson, and Darlene (Mike) Harris.

June will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service to honor June’s life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00am at Fourth Presbyterian Church, Lincoln, Nebraska.
