Kenneth Eugene “Kenny” Cozad, 63, passed away on January 9, 2023 in Lebanon, NE.

He was born on February 21, 1959 to John and Dorothy (Martin) Cozad in McCook, NE.

Kenny grew up in Lyle, KS and went to Norcatur Grade School and then graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1977. After high school he worked for Burlington Northern, a Veterinary Assistant, and as a feedlot cowboy before finding his true love of cattle ranching.

Kenny had many interests. From cooking and sharing recipes, reading western novels, the countless hours chatting with his coffee group to riding motorcycles (in his early years), his pool league, and horse trail riding. In his down time, he loved to watch “Yellowstone” and “Lonesome Dove” and browse the internet for ranch business. Kenny had a big heart and loved babies and all animals, but he especially loved to spend time with his son, Shane.

Kenny is survived by his son, Shane (Kailee Miller) Cozad of Lebanon, NE; sisters: Sheri (Randall) Miller of Cheney, KS and Laura (Gregg) Keefe of Cheney, KS; nephews: Ryan Miller, Cole Miller, Blake Miller, Ian Keefe, Garrett Keefe, and Conner Keefe; step siblings: Jacki Mayberry, Brad (Brenda) Burmaster, and Jeff (Andrea) Burmaster. He was preceded by his parents.

Funeral services was held on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin, KS. Visitation was held Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 PM at the funeral home.
