ROBERT D. BECK

A memorial graveside service for Robert D. Beck will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska. Military honors will be provided by the North Platte American Legion in conjunction with the United States Air Navy Honors Team.

Robert Douglas Beck, 87 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, died on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Bertrand Nursing Home. Robert was born on January 18, 1935, in Oconto, Nebraska. He was raised by Ike and Peg Vollmer. He received his education from Bertrand Public Schools and then attended Egbert High School in Burns, Wyoming, where he graduated with the class of 1952.

On June 27, 1952, Robert was inducted into the United States Navy in Denver, Colorado. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on November 10, 1955.

Robert was a handyman and a jack-of-all trades. He used his talents working in construction for many years. Later, he was employed for Atlas for several years until his retirement.

He loved to go fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed going to the casino and playing cards.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Tammy Beck.

He is survived by a host of cousins and many friends.

There will be no visitation, viewing, or memorial book signing, the evening prior to the service. The family is honoring Robert’s wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Robert’s honor and kindly suggested to the family.
